Alex Yaworski was born and raised in Winnipeg, Manitoba. He attended the University of Manitoba where he earned a Bachelor of Commerce (Hons.) degree. He later pursued further study in accounting and management receiving his Certified Management Accounting (CMA) designation, followed by his Certified Management Consulting designation (CMC), placing third in Canada in the final qualifying examination for the CMC program. Alex has also pursued additional study in forensic auditing.

Alex has over 21 years of experience in accounting, auditing, and healthcare management, having worked for fourteen years in CA public practice and seven years in healthcare where he served as the Business Manager at Mount Carmel Clinic for 4.5 years (1996 to 2001) and most recently as Managing Director of the Department of Surgery, Faculty of Medicine, University of Manitoba for 2.5 years (2006 to 2008).

Alex has had a long history with PKBW Group going back to 1992 with one of its predecessor firms, Prychitko Kapitoler Burdey. Alex rejoined PKBW Group in July 2008 where he serves as a Senior Manager for accounting, audit, tax, and consulting engagements.

Over the years Alex has worked with many entities in both the for-profit and not-for profit sectors, and is able to provide value added service to managers and owners in various organizations having worked in industry himself. In CA practice, Alex has serviced a variety of clients including health care organizations, social service agencies, cultural organizations, construction companies, automobile dealerships, transportation companies, medical practices, professional associations/institutes, and First Nation governments.

As a volunteer, Alex continues to serve his community well as a member of the Rotary Club of Winnipeg Transcona (past Treasurer) and a member of the Finance Committee of the Winnipeg Folk Festival. Alex has also previously served on the Board of Concordia Hospital and as Treasurer and Chair for Women in Second Stage Housing (W.I.S.H.) Inc.

In his spare time Alex is an avid runner having completed seven full marathons and over 15 half marathons in both Canada and the USA.
