Bob Walker was born and raised in Winnipeg. After graduating from Grant Park High School in 1968, Bob enrolled at the University of Manitoba, and received his Bachelor of Commerce (Honours) degree in Accounting in 1972. In 1976 Bob qualified as a CA.

From 1972 to 1974 Bob articled with a local CA firm. After travelling Europe for a year, Bob joined the Audit Services Bureau of Supply and Services Canada in 1975, where he acquired audit experience working on internal and external audits of various Federal Government programs and departments. In 1979 Bob joined his father as a partner with Walker & Walker, Chartered Accountants, a local firm providing a full range of accounting and tax services, located in Saint Boniface. The firm continued, with the addition of Bob’s brother Tim in 1981 and the retirement of their father in 1987, until it merged with Prychitko Kapitoler Burdey in 2001 to form PKBW GROUP.

In addition to providing accounting and consulting services to owner-managed businesses and not-for-profit organizations, and tax return preparation and planning for corporations, trusts and individuals, Bob provides specialized taxation services to the clients of PKBW GROUP, Bob completed parts one and two of the CICA In-Depth tax program in 2002 and 2003 and is a member of the Canadian Tax Foundation.

Bob was for many years one of Manitoba’s best long distance runners. He still holds the Manitoba native record for the Manitoba Marathon ( 42 km. in 2:19:03 ) which he set in 1981 when he represented Canada in the team event in the Montreal Marathon. In addition to running, his current competitive and recreational interests include chess, having participated in local tournaments as well as the Canadian Open Chess Championships, club curling and tennis.

Bob is married to Joy and they have three children, Erin, Adam and Sean.
