Tim Walker was born and raised in Winnipeg receiving his Bachelor of Commerce (Hons.) degree in accounting from the University of Manitoba in 1975. Upon graduating from the University of Manitoba, Tim received the Mrs. McLaughlin Award presented to the graduate commerce student exemplifying high achievement in both academics and athletics.

Tim was employed by various accounting firms in Winnipeg and in 1978 completed his articles with an international firm of Chartered Accountants. Tim continued to work with this firm and was promoted to Audit Manager in 1980, where he was responsible for accounting, auditing, and taxation work and supervised up to seven staff members on audit engagements of some of the largest companies in Winnipeg.

In 1982, Tim joined the family business of Chartered Accountants where he serviced a wide variety of small and medium sized businesses, providing a full range of accounting and tax services. The partnership continued until February, 2001 when they merged the practice with Prychitko Kapitoler Burdey forming PKBW GROUP.

Tim is an active member of the Estate Planning Council of Winnipeg and is a member of the Canadian Tax Foundation.

Throughout Tim's career, he has volunteered his time and talent to various charitable and service organizations as follows:

• Manitoba Track and Field Association Treasurer / Board of Directors
• John Black United Church Finance Committee
• Women's Employment Counselling Service Treasurer / Board of Directors
• Glengarry Park Development Committee Treasurer / Board of Directors
• East St. Paul Community Centre Soccer Coach & Hockey Team Manager
• Victoria Beach Club Tennis Tournament Convenor & Various Sporting Events
• Elmwood Curling Club Financial Consultant

Tim has participated at a competitive level in various activities such as:

• Track and Field as a member of a track club throughout high school and a member of the University of Manitoba Track Team
• Winner of the City of Winnipeg interhigh track meet for the 800 meters in grade 11
• A participant in marathon events
• Active member of Chief Peguis Fitness Centre
• Winner of various City of Winnipeg, Province of Manitoba, and University of Manitoba tennis titles in singles and double competition
• Placing in the top 3 in various open bridge tournaments while in high school and receiving his Masters designation
• Two time winner of Manitoba Curling Association Bonspiel events

Tim is married to Judy. They have three teenage children.
